Description

A comforting classic, this baked ziti features layers of gooey cheese and rich marinara sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the marinara sauce, half of the cooked ziti, and half of the ricotta mixture. Repeat layers and top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add cooked ground beef or sausage for a meatier dish.
