Description
A refreshing and tangy homemade lemonade made with fresh lemons and simple syrup, perfect for any season.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 to 5 cups cold water (filtered)
- Optional: lemon slices or fresh mint for garnish
Instructions
- Make a simple syrup by pouring the sugar and 1 cup of water into a small pot. Heat and stir until the sugar completely dissolves (do not let it boil).
- Juice the lemons, rolling them on the countertop for easier squeezing, and removing any seeds.
- In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and 3-4 more cups of cold water. Stir well.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more sugar water or squeezing in more lemon juice.
- Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint sprigs.
Notes
For a fizzy version, swap half the water for sparkling water. You can also mix in mashed fruits like strawberries or freeze extra lemonade into ice cubes.
