Description

A refreshing and tangy homemade lemonade made with fresh lemons and simple syrup, perfect for any season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 to 5 cups cold water (filtered)
  • Optional: lemon slices or fresh mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make a simple syrup by pouring the sugar and 1 cup of water into a small pot. Heat and stir until the sugar completely dissolves (do not let it boil).
  2. Juice the lemons, rolling them on the countertop for easier squeezing, and removing any seeds.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and 3-4 more cups of cold water. Stir well.
  4. Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness if desired by adding more sugar water or squeezing in more lemon juice.
  5. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint sprigs.

Notes

For a fizzy version, swap half the water for sparkling water. You can also mix in mashed fruits like strawberries or freeze extra lemonade into ice cubes.
