Description

Craft delicious and healthy DIY dog treats to keep your canine companion happy and healthy.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
  • 1/2 cup all-natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cooked sweet potato
  • 1 cup oat flour (or finely ground oats)
  • 1 sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Plain, unsweetened yogurt
  • Dog-safe berries (blueberries or strawberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix pumpkin puree, peanut butter, eggs, and whole wheat flour until a dough forms.
  3. Roll out the dough, cut it into desired shapes, and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  5. For Sweet Potato & Oat Chews, mash the sweet potato and combine with oat flour and cinnamon, shape, and then bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. To make Yogurt & Berry Pupsicles, blend yogurt and berries, pour into molds, and freeze until solid.
  7. Allow treats to cool before serving.

Notes

Store homemade dog treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or refrigerate them for a longer shelf life.
