Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for drizzling
- Flaky salt for topping
- Herbs (optional)
- Chopped garlic or cherry tomatoes (optional)
Instructions
- Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl, and let it get bubbly.
- Stir in flour, salt, and olive oil until shaggy and sticky.
- Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- Grease a baking pan and spread the dough into it, poking dimples with your fingers.
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with flaky salt. Add herbs or other toppings if desired.
- Bake until the top is golden and crisp, about 20-25 minutes.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and enjoy!
Notes
The dough should be sticky; do not add extra flour. Allow the dough to rest for at least 45 minutes for the best texture. It’s also forgiving, so don’t worry about making mistakes.
