Description

A delicious homemade bread that combines the comforting flavors of cinnamon sugar donuts in a loaf form, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with lemon juice)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the topping: 1/4 cup granulated sugar + 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan with butter or parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the buttermilk.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
