Description

Learn how to make creamy homemade yogurt with just two ingredients: milk and plain yogurt with live cultures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart milk (whole or skim)
  • 23 tablespoons plain yogurt with live cultures

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk into a pot and heat slowly to about 180°F, just below boiling.
  2. Let the milk cool to about 110°F until it’s barely warm to the touch.
  3. Stir in the plain yogurt and whisk thoroughly.
  4. Pour the mixture into a clean container, cover it with a towel, and place it in a warm spot for 8-12 hours.
  5. Once the yogurt has set, refrigerate for a few hours to thicken.
  6. Enjoy as is or top with fruits, honey, or granola.

Notes

Allowing the yogurt to sit longer will result in a tangier and thicker texture. Avoid stirring while it sets.
