Description

A rich and gooey chocolate pie that’s a crowd pleaser, perfect for special occasions or satisfying sweet cravings.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs or chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for whipping cream)
  • Optional: coffee powder, chocolate shavings for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until sandy.
  3. Press mixture into the bottom and sides of a pie pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool.
  4. In a double boiler, melt chocolate and butter until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Pour filling into the cooled crust and bake until just set but still wobbly, about 25-30 minutes. Let it cool.
  6. In a bowl, whip heavy cream with sugar (and coffee powder if using) until soft peaks form. Spread whipped cream over cooled pie.
  7. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

Notes

This pie tastes better the next day. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for 2 days or frozen without whipped cream for longer storage.
