- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 2 cups whole milk
- 3 large eggs

Instructions
- Preheat your oven and blind bake the pie crust until firm.
- In a saucepan, mix sugar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt.
- Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps.
- Heat the mixture, stirring constantly until it thickens.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
- Temper the eggs by adding a bit of the warm chocolate mixture to them before combining everything back into the saucepan.
- Off the heat, stir in the butter and vanilla until glossy.
- Pour the filling into the baked pie crust.
- Bake until barely set with a slight jiggle in the center.
- Allow to cool before serving to avoid a gooey texture.
Notes
