Quick and easy homemade dinner rolls that are warm, pillowy, and ready in just one hour.
Ingredients

- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3–4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup softened butter (plus extra for brushing)
- 1 egg (room temperature)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Stir in salt, butter, egg, and half the flour. Mix until sticky.
- Gradually add more flour until dough is soft and slightly tacky. Knead for a couple of minutes.
- Cover the bowl and let sit in a warm place for 15 minutes to rise.
- Shape dough into golf balls and place in a greased pan. Cover and let puff for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 15-18 minutes until golden.
- Brush with melted butter while still hot and serve immediately.
Notes
Use softened butter for mixing and brush hot rolls with more melted butter for extra flavor. Rolls freeze well; reheat in a low oven.
