- 1 cup pure pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)
- 1 egg (or flax egg for egg-free option)
- 1/4 cup water (if needed)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree and peanut butter until smooth.
- Add the egg and mix until well combined.
- Gradually stir in the flour, combining until a dough forms.
- If the dough is too dry, add water a tablespoon at a time.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place the treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the treats are firm and lightly browned.
- Turn off the oven and leave the treats inside as it cools to enhance crunchiness.
- Once cooled, store in an airtight container or freeze for longer freshness.
Notes
Always use xylitol-free peanut butter. You can customize the flour and add calming herbs for anxious dogs.
