- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate bars, chopped
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter with the chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and mix in the sourdough discard.
- In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until pale and fluffy.
- Combine the chocolate mixture with the egg mixture and mix until incorporated.
- Fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
