- 4 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (optional)
- 1 cup hot sauce (Frank’s RedHot recommended)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Brioche or potato buns
- Blue cheese or ranch dressing for serving
- Shredded lettuce and sliced celery for toppings
- Crispy fries or salad for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Season flour with salt and pepper in one bowl, beat eggs in another bowl, and place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl (if using).
- Coat each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Fry chicken for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and brown sugar until combined.
- Toss the crispy chicken in the buffalo sauce until well coated.
- Assemble sandwiches with chicken on buns, topped with creamy dressing and fresh veggies.
- Serve with fries or salad on the side.
Notes
For a healthier option, you can air fry the chicken instead of frying. Customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of hot sauce.
