Description

Crispy air-fried Korean chicken coated in a spicy-sweet sauce, perfect for a quick and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs (or breasts)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup potato starch (or corn starch)
  • Oil spray or brush for coating
  • 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • Optional: sesame seeds or chopped scallions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge the chicken in potato starch or corn starch, ensuring an even coating.
  3. Spray or brush the chicken with oil and place in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  4. Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. In a saucepan, mix gochujang, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ketchup. Warm over low heat until bubbling.
  6. Once the chicken is golden and crispy, remove from the air fryer and toss in the spicy-sweet sauce.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or scallions if desired.

Notes

For extra authenticity, let the chicken rest on a rack before saucing. This helps maintain its crispiness.
