A healthy and simple homemade dog cake made with sweet potatoes and oatmeal, perfect for pampering your furry friend.
Ingredients

- 1 cup mashed sweet potato (about 1 medium, roasted or microwaved and cooled)
- 1 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned)
- 2 eggs (or flax egg if there’s an allergy)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (without xylitol)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Mash the sweet potato in a bowl until smoothish.
- Add rolled oats and mix until sticky.
- Crack in the eggs and add applesauce, yogurt, and peanut butter; stir well.
- If using, add a pinch of cinnamon and mix until thick and gloopy.
- Pour the mixture into a greased cake pan or muffin tin.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges are golden and the center feels firm.
- Allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.
Notes
Keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze slices in a bag.
