Description

A soul-warming Southern Baked Mac and Cheese with a bubbling, golden crust, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 2 1/2 cups evaporated milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the evaporated milk, eggs, mustard powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the cooked macaroni and mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in the grated cheeses until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle paprika on top for color.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
